General
Purposes of the St. Francis Fraternity
of
the Secular Francis Order
1)
Respect all creatures, animate and
inanimate and strive to move from the exploiting of creation to the Franciscan
concept of universal kinship.
2) Cultivate the
Franciscan spirit of peace, fidelity, and respect for life.
3) Promote
justice for the poor by the testimony of their human lives and their
courageous initiatives.
4) Esteem
work both as a gift and as a sharing in the creation, redemption, and service
of the human community.
5) Secular
Franciscans should devote themselves especially to careful reading of the
gospel of Jesus Christ, going from gospel to life and life to the gospel.
6) The Secular
Franciscan Order, by virtue of its very vocation, ought to be ready to share
its experience of evangelical life with the youth who feel attracted to Saint
Francis of
Assisi
and to seek the means of adequately presenting
it to them.
Peace to all who finds any
part of the Love of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
May You grow continually!
